Bob Solis has been walking everyday in preparation for his upcoming walk across South Africa. Set to start August 1st and continue for about 2 months, Bob will be walking 750 miles from Open Arms to Cape Town to raise funds to build additional cottages on our property. Our goal is to raise $250,000 that will allow us to provide a home to 50 more children. And thanks to the generosity of many donors across the US, we are over half way to our goal! A sincere thank you to everybody who is making this possible. You can find out more about the Walk and follow Bob’s journey by visiting the website at www.alongwalk.org.

The recent placement of a boy named Tom brings us to a total of 25 children. Tom joins the rest of the Open Arms family as a very bustling 1 1/2 year old. He was immediately made to feel right at home with his other Open Arms brothers and sisters. As winter sets in in South Africa, the children are keeping very busy and we continue to be grateful and humbled to care for such special children.
