After an exhaustive search for a suitable property to care for children, Open Arms Home for Children has purchased a 75 acre hilltop farm in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. Located just outside the village of Komga, Open Arms Home for Children will initially feature 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms which can accommodate 24 children. The Home is approximately 40 miles (70 km) inland from the Indian Ocean and the seaside city of East London.

The site, formerly known as Highstead Farm, is located on a hilltop with 360 degree views of the expansive farmland around it. It boasts a tennis court and swimming pool as well and will offer a great place for children to call home.

“This site will be the perfect place to carry on our important work,” said co-founder Bob Solis. “It has plenty of room for the kids to play, will allow for expansion of our operations and is close enough to East London to provide for the conveniences of being near a big city. Most of all, it is a place of great beauty which will also be a place of love for the children who will call it ‘home’.”
